Tanner Street to Willow Walk Cycle Route

Southwark Council is improving walking and cycling routes as part of Streets for People, our ambitious plan to improve the air we breathe and the way we travel in Southwark.

We are planning to put in a new cycle route from Tanner Street to Willow Walk, to link existing major TfL routes C10 and C14 in Bermondsey. The proposal is currently at the outline design stage and is planned for construction next year, 2025, pending consultation and approval.

The proposed Route Alignment

We would like to hear from affected residents and local businesses, and those who travel though the area to feed in to the design for both cycling and walking improvements.

Tanner Street to Willow Walk Cycle Route - Early Engagement

8 July 2024 - 2 August 2024

In this phase we are engaging early in the design stage to gather feedback for a new cycle route between Tanner Street (TfL Cycleway 14) and Willow Walk (TfL Cycleway 10).

We want to hear from residents and businesses who are directly affected by the proposed changes. This is an initial engagement phase to understand any issues and problems at an early stage of the design.

We are looking for local feedback on known issues in the area and the proposed route:

  • What cycling or walking improvements can we make to encourage active travel choices?
  • Are there any existing issues with the roads or pavements at the moment?
  • Things we can fix when setting up the cycle route?
  • Are there any places that are particularly difficult for cyclists or pedestrians that we could improve?
  • What are your thoughts on the current ideas for development?

This is early stages of the design process and an opportunity for local residents to have their say. We will consider responses and use them to help us make design improvements.

The final outline design will have a formal consultation later this year.
