Proposed removal of street tree (Melbourne Grove SE22 8QY)

Location: Outside 44C Melbourne Grove , SE22 8QY

Reason for removal: As a result of the root growth from this horse chestnut the adjacent resident is unable to access their private driveway. We have attempted to regrade the footway which has not resulted in any improvement to this issue.

There is not a viable engineering solution to solve this issue.

Mitigation: We plan on replanting with a suitable species and incorporating a root deflector to reduce the likelihood of root damage.
