Southwark Stands Together Resident Review
- The Council developed the Southwark Stands Together programme in response to the Black Lives Matter protests, the death of George Floyd and the disproportionate impact of Covid 19 on Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Communities.
- Southwark Stands Together is a long-term programme of Positive Action for the council to work in solidarity with Southwark’s communities and the council’s staff to tackle racism, injustice and inequality.
- We undertook extensive engagement with over 1500 members of the community and staff to develop the SST programmes including pledges and an action plan.
- A cross-party steering group of councillors and officers agreed 8 workstreams to address inequalities and improve outcomes for our Black Asian Ethnic Minority residents and staff.
Southwark Stands Together is our local call to unity, support, and action, it continues to underpin Southwark Council’s approach to anti-racism.
Our ambition for Southwark Stands Together (SST) includes undertaking a comprehensive community review to ensure the programme is strategically aligned with the borough’s anti-racism vision. This will be led by extensive engagement to gauge the lived experience of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities in Southwark.

Southwark Stands Together Community Conversation Survey for Residents
Thank you for taking part in The SST Community Conversation Survey ensuring that community perspectives are core to the SST programme. Through these conversations, we aim to understand:
- What anti-racism priorities matter most to residents and community groups
- What outcomes are Black Asian and Minority Ethnic communities getting when it comes to service delivery
- What changes and commitments need to be reflected in the refreshed SST Community programme
- What is your experience of operating as a community organisation led by and supporting minoritised communities in Southwark
We value your input and feedback. If you opt-in to the prize draw at the end of the survey, you will be entered into a raffle draw to win a £200 gift voucher!
