Gathering evidence about the experiences of maternity care in Southwark
Share your experience of maternity care in Southwark
We know that not everyone has a good experience of maternity care during pregnancy and the first few months after birth. We have set up a commission to investigate maternity care in Southwark and make recommendations about how services can better meet our resident’s needs.
Who we want to hear from
We want to hear from women and people who have had a pregnancy and their families’ experiences both positive and negative, so we can understand how to improve services.
We also want to hear from fathers and male carers about their experiences of using maternity services. If you’ve used maternity services over the last five years, please tell us about your experiences. If you don’t feel comfortable responding to this survey, please feel free to have a partner or family member respond for you.
We particularly want to hear from those who are:
- Black
- Asian
- from a minority ethnic background
- white residents on lower incomes
- asylum seekers or refugees living in Southwark
- those living with long term conditions or disabilities
Prize draw for a £50 Love2shop voucher for completing the survey
To thank you for sharing your experiences, you can enter a prize draw, with five £50 Love2shop vouchers available. If you wish to enter the draw, provide your email address at the end of the survey.
How you can give your feedback on maternity care
There are different ways you can take part in the commission and help to influence maternity care in Southwark:
Some of the questions in our longer survey may include sensitive information about miscarriage and stillbirth. Do not feel you must answer all the questions if you are finding some difficult. We appreciate that completing the survey may be upsetting. If you or family members need support with your mental health there is a range of help in Southwark.
