Share your view on local pharmacies

In Spring 2025 we asked Southwark residents and pharmacies to tell us about their experience of Pharmacy services in Southwark. We have used this, along with other data, to produce a draft Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA).

A Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment is a structured approach to assessing an area’s need for pharmaceutical services provided by the National Health Service (NHS). The Health and Social Care Act (2012) transferred the responsibility for developing and updating PNAs to local Health and Wellbeing Boards.

The Southwark PNA provides a statement of need for pharmaceutical service provision within the borough, based on our local demographics and health profile. This mapping of pharmaceutical services against local health needs is used to determine whether new pharmacy services should be commissioned under the NHS (Pharmaceutical and Local Pharmaceutical Services) Regulations, 2013. The regulations also apply to applications from pharmacies to change existing services.

You can find the draft PNA below - we would like to invite you to read the document and use this survey to tell us if there is anything we need to change.
