Application for the re-designation of the Southbank and Waterloo Neighbourhood Forum
A local community group in the Southbank and Waterloo area has made an application seeking re-designation as the neighbourhood forum for the area.
The group is called the Southbank and Waterloo Neighbourhood Forum or SoWN. You can find out more about the group on their website.
SoWN was first designated as a neigbourhood forum for the Southbank and Waterloo Neighbourhood Area in March 2014 and re-designated in February 2019.
The group produced a Neighbourhood Plan which was adopted on 21 January 2020.
The group is now applying to renew its neighbourhood forum status. This renewal process must occur every five years. We are now seeking your views on SoWN’s application for re-designation for a period of 6 weeks, from Monday 15 September to Monday 27 October 2025.

The deadline for your response is midnight on Monday 27 October 2025.
Alternatively, if you prefer, you can submit your response to us via e-mail to planningpolicy@southwark.gov.uk.
To inform your decision, we have attached the application in full as a single document which includes:
· The written application
· The group’s constitution
· A map of the designated neighbourhood area
· A list of supporters and members (which has been partially redacted)*
· Statements that support the forum
· Statements regarding SoWN as a qualifying body
*Due to General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) we are unable to publish online the list of the 21 supporters and members. However, if requested, we can provide this to individuals with the permission of the neighbourhood forum.
