Older People's Housing Strategy launch - 23 February 2:00 pm

Southwark's new Older People's Housing Strategy will set the direction for older people's housing over the next decade, drawing on research done with older people throughout Southwark, with those thinking about their housing options when they get older, and with different providers.

The Strategy is guided by three overarching principles, under which different commitments will be made:

Key Strategic Priorities

  • Better Access to Housing: Improving availability of affordable and specialized homes (sheltered and flexi-care) to match diverse, evolving needs.
  • Independent Living Support: Enhancing safety and support to enable residents to remain in their homes, addressing risks like falls.
  • Downsizing Options: Assisting older people in moving to smaller, more suitable homes.

At the launch event, you’ll hear from Southwark Council officers about the new strategy and the ways your feedback has influenced its development.
