Newington Gardens Playground Improvements
Southwark Council has secured funding to improve Newington Gardens Playground, and we would like to hear your views.
The project will include resurfacing and refurbishing the play area, installing at least one piece of inclusive play equipment, and enhancing accessibility to create a more inclusive space for all.
We have now received a proposed design, which can be viewed below and would greatly value your feedback.
Please share your views by completing the online survey or join us on Saturday 20 July 2026, from 11:00am to 1:30pm, at Dickens Fields, Falmouth Rd, London SE1 to look at the new design and share your ideas with the project team.

Design Feedback
We have now received a design from our suppliers and would really appreciate your feedback.
The design has been developed following the initial public consultation, taking into account what local families said they wanted and what matters most to them.
Key features of the proposal include:
- Additional planting will be introduced to enhance the natural environment
- No existing trees will be removed
- Play equipment currently located next to Trinity, Bath and Devonshire House will be removed, with the area reinstated to grass
- The main playground will be relocated next to the existing fenced play area behind the Crown Court
Your input will help ensure the playground is well-suited to residents and remains enjoyable for many years to come.
