Neighbourhood Grants: your idea here

Got an idea for your neighbourhood?

What would you change where you live? Neighbourhood Grants can help turn your idea into something real. We're looking for ideas that are affordable, green and safe.

Applications open on Monday 5 October 2026 and close on Sunday 1 November 2026 at 11:59pm.

What you can apply for

Up to £5,000 to run something. Events, clubs, classes, sports and wellbeing sessions.
Up to £40,000 to build something. Gardens, trees, lighting and play spaces, delivered by the council or applicant group where possible.
Up to £30,000 to improve a street. Street and highway improvements, delivered by the council.

Small ideas count. Not sure which one fits? Ask us, and we'll help you work it out.

Who can apply

Anyone can apply, whether you're an individual or part of a group. This is for all 10 of Southwark's neighbourhoods: Borough & London Bridge, Bermondsey, Rotherhithe, Old Kent Road, Peckham, Nunhead & Peckham Rye, Walworth, Camberwell, Dulwich and East Dulwich.

How to apply

Go to www.southwark.gov.uk/neighbourhood-grants
Fill in the one simple online form via the Benefactor portal.
Submit by Sunday 1 November 2026, 11:59pm.

Free help at drop-in sessions

If you'd like help with your idea or your application, come along to a drop-in session. Register for any session by emailing neighbourhoodgrants@southwark.gov.uk. We'll send the online joining link when you register.

Thursday 8 October 2026, 6–7pm: online
Monday 12 October 2026, 2–4pm: Southwark Council, 132 Queen's Road, London SE15 2HP
Thursday 15 October 2026, 2–4pm: Southwark Council, 160 Tooley Street, London SE1 2QH

What happens next

Sunday 1 November 2026: applications close
End of January / early February 2027: project pitch meetings
March 2027: decision-making meeting
