Grange Walk Improvements

We are improving Grange Walk to make it easier and safer for people to walk and cycle. This is part of Southwark’s Streets for People programme, which aims to improve local streets and help everyone enjoy cleaner air.

We are proposing to make the pavement wider on the south-west side of Grange Walk near Grigg’s Place. We also plan to improve the dropped kerbs nearby so that people can cross the road more easily. The one-way traffic layout would stay the same.

We want to hear from you and your views about the proposed changes. We believe the proposed changes will help make Grange Walk safer and more welcoming for everyone, but your feedback is important and will help us decide what happens next.

We think these changes will make the area safer, more accessible and more pleasant for people walking and using the road. There is currently on-street parking on Grange Walk, which is limited to permit holders from 8am to 6.30pm on weekdays. To make space for the wider pavement and improved crossings, around 23 metres of parking would be removed. This is equal to about four car parking spaces. We do not think the existing parking is heavily used, but we want to hear residents’ views before making a final decision.
