The Southwark Disabled People’s Action Forum has been meeting since September 2023. The aim, as put forward by the Community Engagement team and supported by the Forum, has always been for this Forum to be member-led.
Please take a look at the draft proposals in the document below. These have been developed with Forum members over recent meetings. These set out:-
- Proposed aims for the Forum
- Proposed leadership model - we have suggested a model with 2 co-chairs and a steering group
- Steering group members to represent specific groups of disabled people to ensure representation
- Schedule for appointing and reselecting leaders
- Meeting frequency - proposed at 5 meetings a year
