Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park - new playground facilities

What we are proposing:

An initial design for the Playground has taken account of feedback from park users and from the pupils from Notre Dame Girls School. The school regularly uses the park for sports activities as it is directly opposite their Secondary school.  

The latest design in the Proposed plan below shows:      

• Installing new play equipment suitable for all children including those with special educational needs and disabilities.  
• Creating a comfortable seating area drawing on the history of GMH Park and its relationship with the Imperial War Museum.   
• Clearance of the dilapidated cabin and containers, which are not used, to make space for an expanded playground. 
• Removal of fencing around the East Lawn.

Individual features are illustrated in the Image board of play equipment especially catering to teenagers, and in consultation with Make Space for Girls.
