Dulwich emerging priorities

Mimi Munchetty7 months ago The volume of traffic, pollution, dangerous driving, inconsiderate parking across driveways, no regard for double yellow lines and parking restrictions is untenable. The number of cars particularly related to Dulwich Prep and Kingsdale is relentless during school drop off and pick up. This is also applicable on Saturday due to the number of school clubs and classes.It is horrible for residents and when parents/carers are confronted they are often rude, verbally abusive and have no regard for residents.We want to enjoy the road we live on without the constant chaos on the roads.A school street with restrictions during term time and school hours would give residents who have invested in Dulwich the opportunity to live in a more peaceful, less polluted and congested road.

Audrey Albert7 months ago cyclists and growing in numbers in the area, including young children, family with cargo bikes. But roads are unsafe. Some cyclists find safety on pavements. Reallocating road space, creating protected cycling lanes , would help in easing traffic, allowing people to not use their cars. My children travel on Alleyn Park, who urgently need to be a school street, children shouldn’t be exposed to this amount of anti social driving on a daily basis. Residents have been asking for a school street for years, most drivers don’t respect yellow lines and park dangerously

Edith Hargreaves8 months ago We need education of adults and children on safety on our pavements, and more regulation. Both adults and children (even wnen they are with a parent) cycle or scooter straight at a disabled person like myself with a walker without pausing. And how do they know if I'm blind? If they are coming from behind me I can't even hear them. One move in the wrong direction by eithe and the injuries to cyclist and pedestrian could be devastating.

Mike Colvin8 months ago Pedestrian areas, particularly pavements are becoming more and more invaded by cyclists and electric scooters travelling 3 or 4 times the speed of the incumbent pedestrians. As a result elderly, slow moving pedestrians like myself feel unsafe and threatened.Proposal: Make it illegal for anyone to cycle or use an electric scooter on pavements with an enforceable penalty (say £50) for doing so. A photo of anyone doing so and emailed to the penalty email address should be sufficient evidence. Emailed warning on the first offence, penalty notice on second and subsequent offences.Also create a narrow (2ft wide) lane for use by cyclists and electric scooters. Such a narrow lane would require them to travel in single file and thus be self regulating speed..Such lanes could be created by a marking on the road, adjacent to the pavement and from which motorized traffic would be forbidden to enter with an enforceable penalty (say £50) for doing so. A photo of anyone doing so and emailed to the penalty email address should be sufficient evidence. Emailed warning on the first offence, penalty notice on second and subsequent offences.
