Proposed new cycle hangars

Southwark Council is consulting on installing a Bike Hangar (bike parking unit) in your area. We would like to hear your views on the locations proposed.

Each bike hangar has room for 6 cycles and is accessed using a unique key (although, for additional security we always advise users to lock their cycle to the rack inside the hangar).

Each hangar will replace a single car parking space. This is part of the council’s commitment to supporting healthier forms of travel.

A space in the hangar is available for rent for £60 incl. VAT per annum and a refundable deposit of £25 will also be charged for the hangar key. The rental system is operated by Cyclehoop (www.cyclehoop.com). Anyone who registers an interest in securing a space will be added to the priority list which will be passed to Cyclehoop upon installation of the hangar.
