Creative Health in Southwark: Two Tender Opportunities

Are you an arts and culture, or community organisation based in Southwark with experience in delivering creative health and wellbeing projects?

Southwark Council is launching two contracts for local organisations to deliver and embed Creative Health activities in the borough.

Creative Health is defined as creative approaches and activities that have benefits for individuals or communities' health and wellbeing. Approaches such as dance, music, and the visual arts are well evidenced to foster social connection, boost mental and physical health, and play a meaningful role in addressing health inequalities.

Contract size: £18,000

Length of contract: 12-18 months

Funded activities will respond to one of the following local neighbourhood health priorities:

  • The prevention and management of children and young people’s mental health. This includes those with complex needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • The prevention and management of multiple long-term health conditions in adults (with a focus on cardiometabolic diseases like cardiovascular disease and diabetes)
  • The prevention and management of falls and frailty in older people

Projects will have the arts at their core and demonstrate a commitment to inclusive practice. Please see the Creative Health Alliance Framework for guiding principles on inclusion and accessibility.

Who can apply:

We are looking to contract organisations with existing experience in delivering creative arts and wellbeing projects.

The proposed project can be an existing activity or a new area of work where organisations can demonstrate how they will adapt current expertise.

Contracted organisation will be supported by the Council to establish local health partnerships and with evaluation processes.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • An arts or culture organisation, or VCSE registered in Southwark.
  • Constituted, for example a charity, community interest company or limited company.
  • An organisation that delivers arts, culture, or creative activity as part of its core mission.
  • Have the appropriate governance, safeguarding and financial management processes in place to deliver the proposed project.
  • A strong track record in delivering arts and wellbeing projects, and an understanding of the guiding principles of Creative Health programmes.

We welcome consortia applications, including sole traders, where the lead organisation and applicant is an arts and culture, or community organisation.
