Astbury Road Heavy Vehicle Restrictions
In recent conversations with local residents, they told us that they are concerned about:
- noise disturbance from Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) being unloaded and loaded in the early hours of the morning
- HGVs causing damage to parked cars and trees on streets used to access the business parks, and
- access for residents being blocked because of HGVs and smaller vans parked on residential streets while they wait to be called into the business park.
To help tackle these issues, we are consulting you about putting in weight restrictions on local roads as set out below. There are two options:
This would involve putting in a weight restriction of 7.5 tonnes on York Grove, Queens Road and Clifton Way. This would prevent HGVs from entering all of these roads between 11pm and 7am.

This would only put a weight restriction of 7.5 tonnes on the section of road shown between 11pm and 7am. This would prevent HGVs using the section shown but the rest of Astbury Road would be be unrestricted.

We think these changes will help create a safer and more pleasant environment for residents and road users, but we want to hear your views.
