Application for Sydenham Hill Ridge Neighbourhood Forum

Overview

A local community group in the Sydenham Hill Ridge area has made an application seeking the re-designation of a Neighbourhood Forum.

The Sydenham Hill Ridge Neighbourhood Area was designated when the group first submitted a Neighbourhood Area application in 2019. It remains as a designated Neighbourhood Area so will not be subject to a further application.

The group was first designated as a Neigbourhood Forum for the Sydenham Hill Ridge Neighbourhod Area in February 2020. The group is now applying to renew its Neighbourhood Forum status. This renewal process must occur every five years. This is the basis of this consultation.

The Designated Neighbourhood Area

The proposed neighbourhood area (map above and uploaded below) covers part of the London Borough of Southwark and the London Borough of Lewisham, a map of which can also be viewed in the application form found at the bottom of the page. An interactive version of this map is available via Southwark Maps (by selecting Policy Areas, Neighbourhood Plan Areas).

Consultation responses will be shared with the London Borough of Lewisham to allow for a joined-up consultation. Responses which London Borough of Southwark receive to this consultation from residents of London Borough of Lewisham will also be shared in order to avoid double counting.

Why your views matter

The London Borough of Southwark and the London Borough of Lewisham are seeking views and comments on this application from residents and other interested stakeholders. Our preference is for you to complete your response to this consultation via this online survey.

The deadline for your response is midnight on 6 May 2025.

Alternatively, if you prefer, you can submit your response to us via e-mail to planning.policy@southwark.gov.uk.

If the re-designation is approved, the Neighbourhood Forum will be able to prepare a Neighbourhood Plan for their Neighbourhood Area.

Once a Neighbourhood Plan has passed through the statutory processes and is adopted, it will be used, alongside the boroughs' own planning policy documents, to make decisions on planning applications in the designated Neighbourhood Area.
