The space is not used efficiently. There should be bus lanes in each direction and at most 1 lane of motor traffic in each direction. however there up to 2 traffic lanes which is not necessary and makes it feel like a motorway. that space could be better utlised for wider pavements or a segregated cycle lane. the green space in the middle adds a lot of space with no real value, especially as its flanked by busy lanes of traffic.

there's a load of mature trees in the middle - if we lost those it would feel more like a motorway
