I am writing to formally request additional secure cycle hangars for Canada Estate (SE16).
The estate contains over 220 flats and hundreds of residents, yet there is currently only a single 6-space bike hangar available. This provision is severely inadequate. Because many of us live in high-rise tower blocks (Columbia Point and Regina Point), taking bikes up in lifts or keeping them in communal hallways is not viable and poses fire-safety concerns.
Demand far exceeds availability, and lack of secure ground-level storage directly prevents residents from cycling. Please prioritize the installation of additional cycle hangars on Canada Estate to meet current resident demand and support Southwark's active travel commitments.
