Phoenix Rising Youth Organisation is a Peckham-based company dedicated to supporting and working with the younger generation between the ages of 8 to 25 years and supporting those with SEMH, SEN, and physically challenging needs.

Project Peckham's objective is to empower young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and marginalised groups in the area of Peckham, providing them with the tools and support they need to rise above their challenges and reach their full potential.

We aim to achieve this by providing:

·        Mental Health & Wellbeing Coaching – Group therapy and individual counselling in physical and artistic activities

·        Academic Support – Tailored tutoring in core subjects

·        Vocational Training – Providing support for accredited courses leading to employment

·        Employability Services - CV building, interview preparation, career mentoring and access to apprenticeships and internships

·        Youth Engagement & Leadership – Strengthen the relationship within the community

Our goal is to provide these services via workshops in order to help the community and assist in reducing crime rate by providing a safe and nurturing environment. This will be successful as this is a unique service that is not currently being offered in Peckham yet has proven successful in other areas.

We currently teach mixed martial arts (MMA) and self-defence classes in schools alongside school-based outreach programs and wish to expand this further. Having our own environment will ensure these services can expand, introducing many components of what we intend to provide.

Therefore, the £50,000 will benefit the community as this will contribute immensely to the services we are currently offering. This cost will help with the day-to-day running of the services and training sessions.

It is essential for children to have an outlet for adolescent frustrations, and even more important to feel a part of a family and something bigger than themselves they can build on.

Phoenix Rising Youth Organisation truly deserves this funding because it offers a lifeline to young people in Peckham who need it most. With heartfelt support from wellbeing coaching to academic and career guidance, they create a safe, nurturing space where young people of all backgrounds and abilities can grow, feel seen, and reach their full potential, filling a gap no one else currently meets. This organisation is crucial to our community and will make it flourish.

As both a parent who has seen first-hand the positive impact of Phoenix Rising Youth Organisation, and a teaching assistant who works daily with children facing SEMH and additional needs, I cannot express enough how vital this funding is for our community. I have watched young people who were struggling with confidence, behaviour and emotional regulation begin to thrive through the support, structure and encouragement this organisation provides. Their approach is unique in Peckham—combining wellbeing, academic support, mentoring, and physical activities such as MMA to give young people a safe outlet and a sense of belonging. In school, I see so many children who desperately need these kinds of services but simply don’t have access to them. The tailored coaching, vocational training and employability support offered by Project Peckham would bridge a gap that schools alone cannot fill. It gives our young people hope, purpose, and practical tools for their future. As a parent, I know the difference this has made to my own child’s confidence and emotional wellbeing. As an educator, I see how many more would benefit if the organisation had the funding to expand. The £50,000 would directly support life-changing programmes, create a safe space for vulnerable young people, and help reduce negative behaviours by giving them positive pathways. This organisation isn’t just helpful—it’s essential. Our young people need this, our families need this, and our community will be stronger because of it.

Truly a remarkable organisation. As a born and breed resident of Peckham, I truly believe this is needed in my community. Supporting the youth ensures a better future for them. Having a hub or space, will change the future. Providing skills like plumbing, music engineering, hair & beauty and other employment opportunities is a real need in Peckham. There no spaces for them, no youth centres, no safe spaces so let's have Project Peckham and make a difference to our community!

I’m supporting the cause because every young person deserves the chance to thrive, no matter their background. An organisation like this can change lives by helping to create opportunities in a safe, inspiring space where our next generation can learn, grow, and become empowered which can only be positive for the community.

I’m voting in full support of the Peckham Peckham. This is exactly what our community needs, a place that gives young people real opportunities to discover and develop their talents. Projects like this don’t just build skills; they build confidence, purpose, and brighter futures. By investing in our youth, the Peckham Project is investing in the future of Peckham itself — helping to create a community that’s creative, empowered, and full of potential. It’s inspiring to see a local organisation so dedicated to positive change. Let’s give our young people the platform they deserve!
