Poor accessibility

From "Better Bus Southwark Section 3 - Camberwell to Goose Green"

Go to the project

Accessibility is very poor on this section of bus route. Buses pull up far from kerb, doors level with street furniture so exiting is difficult, no attempt made to lower bus etc. Less frequent services mean buses overcrowded and with large proportion of people who should be seated to travel safely. They often pick up by the hospital and then end the service within a short time, meaning people have to debus and then got on another. This section of the route is vital in bringing patients in and out of King's & The Maudsley and needs to better support less able passengers. The bus terminating at Camberwell Green regularly flies past King's, even if people have their arms out. King's to Camberwell is a long walk for our less able patients.
