Move Bus Stop from Small Congested Pavement
From "Better Bus Southwark Section 2 - Elephant and Castle to Camberwell"
Go to the project
Medlar street stop on small narrow walkway by shops - congested and hard to walk past at busy periods. Impossible for a wheelchair to maneuver. The shop also often has rubbish outside making it even more difficult.
There is also an issue with it being so close to the other Medlar street stop that if more than two buses at the stop, others can't stop and pull in, i've missed my bus many times after they couldn't see me or have anywhere to stop which is incredibly frustrating.
Two potential solution I;d suggest - Either spacing this stop further down about 15 metres outside Budgens where the pavement is 4 times wider after recent improvements and a bus shelter and board provided. This would allow much more space for buses to stop and see people, and remove congestion issue.
OR
Look to consolidate both Medlar street stops, and the stop at the Wyndham junction/Mosque, into a big longer set of stops between budgens and the Mosque essentially mirrioring what is opposite.
