Congestion NOT due to parked cars
From "Better Bus Southwark Section 4 - Lordship Lane"
Go to the project
I’ve lived in East Dulwich for many years and congestion along Lordship Lane has got noticeably worse due to the numerous traffic restrictions that have been put in place over the years such has LTNs school streets, etc. Regardless of whether you agree with these measures or not, it is inevitable that more traffic will be forced along remaining routes such as Lordship Lane.
Instead of removing what little car parking remains, please ensure that other obstructions are minimised to allow the free flowing of busses. Most blockages I experience are due to inconsiderate delivery drivers or refuse collection. Why does refuse collection take place during peak travelling time.
Again, please do not remove car parking spaces. Local businesses have suffered enough during the current economic climate and need all the support we can give them.
