I regularly use buses between East Dulwich and Elephant and Castle and the biggest headache is the delay cause by waiting for a change of driver at Medlar Street or Camberwell Green.
Yesterday I caught a southbound 176 bus at Leicester Square which was held up for at least 15 minutes at Medlar Street when the replacement driver failed to turn up. This is not the first time I have been among passengers left stranded with no driver, and it's incredibly annoying. I changed to a 40 bus, which then also stopped at Camberwell Green to change drivers, so had to get a third bus in order to complete my journey. This also involves a fair walk to the next bus stop - why can't they stop at the bus stop instead of Camberwell Green?
Since there is no tube station at East Dulwich, I have to add 30 minutes onto any journey time if I want to reach Oval or Elephant and Castle tubes. Extra delays often make this 40+ minutes. There must be ways of improving this service.
